Wadebridge Canoe Club is a small friendly Club which paddles in Cornwall on both the North and South coasts, with occasional trips elsewhere.
The decision on where to go will depend on weather and tide considerations. Because of the variety of where we go, we have no fixed base.
Most of our paddling is done in sea kayaks, and some in canoes. There is also access to surfing and white-water paddling.
The Club has a stock of boats available for hire, but members are encouraged to buy their own equipment when they feel ready. Members will need to be able to transport hired boats to and from paddles.
Club nights are held on Tuesday nights during British summer time, with other paddles being organised at weekends. Members can also organise their own paddles. All the paddles are organised through a WhatsApp group. You can come to 3 Club sessions to try us out, before becoming a member.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the Club, please complete the Get in Touch section below to find out more and obtain an application form. This will link to our email address (email@example.com). When you want to join us, please complete the application form, attach it to an email, and send us your membership fee as instructed.
The current membership is £35 per annum.
Depending on your experience we may need to arrange safety training before you join a Club paddle. Safety training will be carried out for all members throughout the year and include pool training during the winter.
All members will need to wear appropriate clothing for paddles in case of capsize and carry safety equipment with them. Paddle leaders will carry more extensive equipment with them.
At the moment, unfortunately, we do not have the resources to cater for junior paddlers. If juniors want to participate they would need to come with a competent adult and have adequate paddling experience. The competent adult would need to have full responsibility for the junior.
If you want to paddle with us we look forward to welcoming you. It’s a fabulous sport!
